Ajay Kumar Presents Sustainable Collection At IBFW

​For the fifth season of India Beach Fashion Week (IBFW), Ajay Kumar showed his men’s and womenswear collection entitled 'Bhu-svah.'

The presiding theme of Kumar’s Bhu-svah collection was print mixing and garments in different prints were styled together for an eclectic feel. Prints were also mixed within the same garment and the colour palette was rainbow bright. Menswear used traditional tailored silhouettes such as suit jackets and shirts but hot pants and draped t-shirts kept the audience on their toes.

The Mr. Ajay Kumar brand is known for its bold prints and the new collection continued the theme with a cornucopia of prints for both men’s and women’s designs. Prints were made of photo-collages, some kaleidoscope images, and the womenswear was no less colourful. Images such as lotuses, tigers, and bouquets adorned garments and abstract prints also featured.

Mr. Ajay Kumar was launched in 2015 by Ajay Kumar as a place for the designer to explore his love of the aforementioned ornate prints. The brand first launched as part of Lakme Fashion Week’s GenNext event and continues to show at LFW. The label retails through multi-brand fashion boutiques and online portals in both India and Dubai.
